peonies of the coos riviera

Just above the Connecticut River in New Hampshire's Coos County, more than a hundred varieties of herbaceous peonies, tree peonies, and intersectional-hybrid peonies bloom from late May to early July.

The display gardens of Coos Riviera peonies are now emerging from under remaining crusts of snow, with temperatures occasionally ranging into the low fifties.

Visit this site in late April for further updates about the peony season's progress here.

The gardens will be open daily from noon to four beginning in early June. Before then, garden-visits to see Chinese tree peonies and very early herbaceous peonies can be arranged: email or phone 603.837.9800.

Until the snow melts and the mud warms, enjoy last year's bloom season in pictures!
