peonies of the coos riviera

Just above the Connecticut River in New Hampshire's Coos County, more than a hundred varieties of herbaceous peonies, tree peonies, and intersectional-hybrid peonies bloom from late May to early July.

Peak bloom (the greatest number of peony cultivars blooming simultaneously) is imminent, with three to four peony cultivars joining the bloom-parade each day. Recent soaking rain, followed by forecast temperatures in the seventies, will likely produce peak bloom midweek. It usually continues until the arrival of hot weather at the end of the month.

Check this website periodically for bloom-season and garden-condition updates. Email questions to peonies@criv.com.

From June 8 through June 30 the garden is open to the public daily noon to four except during thunderstorms.
